Led by Jon Hogan on vocals and Maria Moss on lead-guitar, with upright bass, full-kit drums, and keys/accordion, we transform songs from Townes Van Zandt, Bob Dylan, Blaze Foley, the Carter Family, and Johnny Cash into something entirely their own— cowpunk two-steps, swingy minor blues, trancey desert ballads, and psychedelic bluegrass with a gritty, modern edge.
Our name, inspired by Greil Marcus's iconic book on Dylan (and used with his blessing), hints at what we do best: honoring tradition while bending it into new, unexpected shapes.
The result is a sound that's soulful, high-energy, and unapologetically off the beaten path: built for listeners who like their roots music a little weirder and a lot more alive.
