Alpine singer-songwriter and Sul Ross theatre professor. A native Texan raised in San Angelo, he began writing songs in his teens among a crowd that included Beaver Nelson and Will T. Massey, drawing on Townes Van Zandt, Butch Hancock, Springsteen and Dylan. He worked across west Texas as a scene designer and teacher of theatre while writing all along, and has shared bills with James McMurtry, Terri Hendrix and Beaver Nelson. His debut album 'It's The Tryin'' was cut in a week at a Marfa studio with producer Scrappy Jud Newcomb, Chris Maresh on bass and Jordan Cook on drums, and released on Ellipses Records.
